Expertise and Professional Background
Simon Hudd is the head of the corporate and transactional department at Harneys’ associate office in Bermuda. Simon has been involved with many of the largest and most high-profile offshore corporate transactions in the past 10 years, and was a partner in Harneys’ London office until April 2017 where he specialised in British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands law. Simon is involved in and regularly advises on corporate transactions (mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, strategic joint ventures, takeovers, international stock exchange listings, corporate restructurings and reorganisations), structured and asset finance, project and acquisition finance, Islamic Finance (including Murabaha facilities and Sukuk issues) and capital markets. Prior to joining Harneys in 2011, Simon worked as an associate with Walkers in its BVI and Jersey offices.
Before moving offshore, Simon was an associate in the corporate department of CMS Cameron McKenna LLP in London, and also spent time on client secondment at a global medical research charity and an international corporate finance house.
Simon is recommended by Chambers Global and Legal 500 as a leading BVI law expert. He is fluent in French.
