Expertise and Professional Background

Oliver joined the firm’s Investment Funds and Regulatory Team in July 2014. Oliver advises on all aspects of investment funds law in the British Virgin Islands, including pre-formation strategy, organisational structure, regulatory compliance, document preparation and transactional activities for both private equity and hedge funds.

Prior to joining Harneys, Oliver was a Senior Associate in the Corporate and Investment Funds Teams at Ogier in the British Virgin Islands where, in addition to advising on investment funds law, Oliver represented clients in domestic and international mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures involving combinations of public and private companies.

Oliver is also a contributing editor of The Offshore Funds Blog, a Harneys blog dedicated to explaining how offshore funds work and why investment managers use them. He is recommended by Legal 500 and IFLR 1000.
