Louise Groom is a partner in Harney's Cayman Banking and Finance group and specialises in Cayman Islands law.
Louise has a vast range of onshore and offshore experience and regularly advises local and international banking and commercial clients on Cayman Islands legal aspects of finance transactions (secured lending, asset finance, project finance, acquisition finance, debt issuance, debt restructuring and enforcement of security) with a specialised focus on credit and security issues. Her practice also includes providing Cayman Islands law advice on the offshore aspects of corporate transactions (corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, strategic joint ventures, takeovers and stock exchange listings) and on the local registration of specific assets, such as super yachts, aircraft and intellectual property.
Prior to joining Harneys in 2011, Louise trained and worked for seven years at Clifford Chance in London and Singapore and then practiced for three years with Walkers in the Cayman Islands. Louise is consistently recommended by leading legal ranking directories including Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR1000.
